2015 Video Contest Awards Ceremony
The Gloucester County Highway Safety Taskforce will be hosting the awards presentation for the 12th annual video production contest on May 6, 2015. The ceremony will be held at United Artist 14 Theater in Washington Township, New Jersey (121 Tuckahoe Road, Sewell, NJ 08080). Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the ceremony will start at 7:00 PM. Come cheer on your fellow classmates and watch videos from throughout the county! Prizes will be awarded for the top High School and Elementary School videos. All Gloucester County school students who bring a valid school ID will be entered into a raffle for an iPad Air! Good luck to everyone and see you on the 6th!
 
2015 Video Contest
The Gloucester County Highway Safety Taskforce announces its twelfth annual High School Video Contest. Students will have a choice of four (4) topics this year: (1) Driving Under the Influence, (2) Distracted Driving (Cellular phone usage / texting), (3) Drowsy Driving, and (4) Pedestrian Safety. Students may team up to produce a 30 second video depicting the dangers of the selected topic(s). There is now a high school division and an elementary school division. The Grand Prize winning video may be aired on commercial television, in addition to prizes for the top ten (10) videos in each division. The contest is open to any high school and elementary school student residing in Gloucester County. The deadline for entry is March 1, 2015. 2014 Video Contest Winners

The Gloucester County Highway Safety Taskforce would like to congratulate Derek Earnhart, Zach Schaffer, and Dan Freeman from Delsea Regional High School for taking 1st place in this year’s contest in the high school division. Their video “Super Tired” bested the other entries to earn top honors. For winning the contest, the video was aired on cable television for a period of three weeks, and the winning team received savings bonds and other prizes. The Taskforce would also like to congratulate Jazmin Kelly from Monongahela Middle School for taking 1st place in this year’s contest in the elementary school division. Her video “Lessons from Grandma” bested the other entries to earn top honors. For winning the contest, the video was aired on cable television for a period of three weeks, and the she received savings bonds and other prizes. Child Passenger Safety Technician Class  
The Gloucester County Highway Safety Task Force and National Safe Kids recently sponsored a Child Passenger Safety Technician class at the Gloucester County Fire Academy. In all, thirty new technicians were trained to properly install child passenger safety seats. There is information available to find a technician or to schedule an appointment to have your seat checked.

Gloucester County’s Distracted Driving Prevention Initiative
